Background:
|
At the request of President Larry Miller, a special meeting of the Board of School Directors will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2019, in the Auditorium of the Central Services Building, 5225 West Vliet Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for the purpose of conferring with legal counsel and receiving oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the Board with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved.
The Board may retire to closed session pursuant to Wisconsin Statutes, §19.85(1)(f), which allows a governing body to retire to closed session to consider “disciplinary data of specific persons, preliminary consideration of specific personnel problems, or the investigation of charges against specific persons which, if discussed in public, would be likely to have a substantial adverse effect upon the reputation of any person referred to in such histories or data, or involved in such problems or investigations,” and §19.85(1)(g), which allows a governing body to retire to closed session to “confer with legal counsel for the governmental body who is rendering oral or written advice concerning strategy to be adopted by the body with respect to litigation in which it is or is likely to become involved.”
The Board may reconvene in open session to take action on matters discussed in closed session; otherwise, the Board will adjourn from executive session.
