Background: At its meeting on August 25, 2018, the Board referred Resolution 1819R-005 by Director Voss regarding a district-wide plan to support and maintain positive school climates to the Committee on Parent and Community Engagement.

The Administration is in agreement with the intent of the resolution, which is in alignment with district procedures including, Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and de-escalation training, professional development, PBIS, and data monitoring.
Fiscal Impact Statement: This item does not authorize expenditures. Once the plan has been developed, any costs associated with its implementation requiring Board approval will be brought before the Board for such approval.
Implementation and Assessment Plan Upon approval by the Board, the Administration will begin developing the plan.
Recommendation: The Administration recommends that the Board adopt Resolution 1819R-005 by Director Voss regarding a district plan to maintain safe and orderly environments in schools and classrooms as amended in the attachment to this item.
