Background:
|
On May 29, 2014, the Board approved non-base building increases for teachers ranging from $454 to $2,060. The presentation dated May 20, 2014, included information regarding additional pay opportunities where teachers who receive a cumulative rating of "distinguished" on the Teacher Performance measures of the Teacher Effectiveness system would receive a non-base building payment of $750 in the following school year. The first distinguished pay was made in May 2016 for performance year 2014-15 to 187 teachers at a cost of $140,250. The second distinguished pay was made in December 2016 for performance year 2015-16 to 212 teachers at a cost of $159,000. The Administration is requesting Board approval for the third distinguished payment of $750 to be made for performance year 2016-17. There are 341 teachers eligible for a total payout of $255,750.

Recommendation:
