Background:
|
Members of the Washington High School Alumni Scholarship Foundation (WHSASF) have requested the opportunity to express their gratitude to the Milwaukee Board of School Directors for allowing the sale of two paintings by Swedish artist Birger Sandzen that were originally gifted to the school by its graduating class of 1927. The net proceeds from the sale of "Creek at Twilight" and "Mountain Symphony" ended up to be $771,000. This amount will be set aside by the WHSASF to fund college scholarships for Washington High School graduates. This accomplishment that will serve our students was made possible through the support of the Milwaukee Board of School Directors.
