Background:
|
A request was issued to MPS Administration to provide the Milwaukee Board of School Directors with a report in December 2019 regarding the implementation of the Bilingual Budget Amendment. The following four items were included in the amendment and approved by the Board:
1. restore funds to the Department of Bilingual Multicultural Education in the amount of $79,838;
2. allocate $200,000 to the Grow Your Own program for eligible bilingual paraprofessionals;
3. implement support systems for students to attain the Seal of Biliteracy; and
4. provide the Department of Bilingual Multicultural Education with $20,000 to facilitate the Districtwide Multilingual Multicultural Committee. |
